Thoughts on "'Touching the Future:' Q&A with a pioneer on the vision and future of tablets 10 years after iPad"

The second article I read was "'Touching the Future:' Q&A with a pioneer on the vision and future of tablets 10 years after iPad" This article was about a man who envisioned the creation of a tablet newspaper and then got to see it come to life through the iPad. His name is Roger Fidler. Fidler answers questions about his experience with the idea of a tablet newspaper and how it came to life. The first question he was asked was why his dream didn't come to life in the 90's and his answer was that the technology required to produce something like a tablet simply wasn't available. It's hard to believe that we would be 10 years ahead of where we are technology wise if we had gotten that kind of a head start. He also answers a question about what everybody is concerned with and is the main focus for why so many publications are switching to online and that is how much longer will print media still be relevant and alive. Thoughts on "'Finishable new' worked for The Guardian on iPad for 8 years. Will it draw new subscribers on phones?"

The first article I read was "'Finishable new' worked for The Guardian on iPad for 8 years. Will it draw new subscribers on phones?" and is about a recently launched app for the news source The Guardian. The Guardian launched this app in the hopes that it will help them reach their goal of getting 2 million paying supporters within the next three years. They already had a standard mobile app, but this one is available to subscribers who have chosen a premium subscription. I think it's pretty impressive the jump that newspapers have been able to make over the years to a digital platform as print media has started to die out. The Guardian is one of those publications and according to this article, they've been doing really well. I believe it was a smart decision to create an app that could be used on phones. Not everybody has an iPad so by having it available in a mobile app they can reach a lot more people.

Comments on Two Articles for Class

The two articles we were asked to read and discuss for this assignment were " Crowdsourcing truth and how journalists can avoid spreading coronavirus misinformation: Q and A with MIT professor David Rand" by Clark Merrefield and "How Journalists Can Address Mistrust in Pandemic Coverage and Help 'Flatten the Curve'" by Melissa Bailey. Both articles are focused on how journalists can deal with COVID-19 information and avoid publishing false information about it.  The first article by Clark Merrefield starts by discussing how social media platforms and news outlets such as USA Today and the Associated Press are teaming together to limit the amount of false news that is spread about the pandemic on social media.  With everything going on, It hadn't even occurred to me that misinformation was an issue. After reading this first article I realize that it is. Misinformation has been spreading on social media and the internet ever since they were a thing, a
