Thoughts on "'Finishable new' worked for The Guardian on iPad for 8 years. Will it draw new subscribers on phones?"

The first article I read was "'Finishable new' worked for The Guardian on iPad for 8 years. Will it draw new subscribers on phones?" and is about a recently launched app for the news source The Guardian. The Guardian launched this app in the hopes that it will help them reach their goal of getting 2 million paying supporters within the next three years. They already had a standard mobile app, but this one is available to subscribers who have chosen a premium subscription.

I think it's pretty impressive the jump that newspapers have been able to make over the years to a digital platform as print media has started to die out. The Guardian is one of those publications and according to this article, they've been doing really well. I believe it was a smart decision to create an app that could be used on phones. Not everybody has an iPad so by having it available in a mobile app they can reach a lot more people.
